Jute’s relevance persists due to global interest in eco-friendly products. Bangladesh, a major producer (accounting for 42% of global production), combines tradition with innovative designs. However, challenges include rising production costs, aging machinery, and the need for compliance. Competition from other jute-growing countries and alternative materials affects demand.

My name is Ismat Jerin Khan. My vision was to assist talented women from rural areas who often lacked opportunities to showcase their expertise. By collaborating with them, I believe that we could provide a remarkable chance for them to shine on the global stage. This vision led me to establish Jermatz Limited in 2014.

In 2020, our online exploration led us to discover Alibaba’s international platform. Since then, we have been contemplating collaboration with Alibaba. Since 2022, we have actively engaged with Alibaba.com, enticed by their comprehensive range of services and solutions. We aspire to sustain this fruitful collaboration in the future.

We have successfully fulfilled an order valued at $14,000 with a buyer from Belgium. We are now receiving buyer queries from previously unexplored markets. Our position as an export company from our industry in Bangladesh’s top ten through Alibaba remains strong.

Our primary challenge lies in buyer sourcing. Over time, we’ve explored various avenues to connect with potential buyers. Attending international trade shows has been a significant source for us. However, our current focus is on Alibaba, where we are already experiencing successful sales.

As we delve into the global jute market, several intriguing trends and insights have surfaced, such as consumers and businesses worldwide increasingly seeking sustainable alternatives to synthetic materials. While jute gains ground, synthetic materials like polypropylene remain popular due to their cost-effectiveness. Moreover, we have seen some countries on top of the list for importing Jute Goods, such as the USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Canada, Italy, etc.

Buyers are consistently amazed when they see our products. Upon touching them, they often exclaim, “Wow, it’s a beautiful natural product!” Our dedicated women artisans pour their skillful hands and hard work into creating these items. When we share buyer feedback with them, their excitement grows, motivating them to craft even better products.
