Azerbaijan Export Agency Signs MOU with Alibaba.com

On 27^th of February, 2024 in Baku, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) of Azerbaijan and Alibaba.com.

The document was signed by AZPROMO's Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev and Tim Song, the Head of the Global Strategic Partnership of Global Supplier Development at Alibaba.com.

The Memorandum of Agreement will contribute to the access of products under the "Made in Azerbaijan" brand to new export markets. The signing took place within the framework of a seminar held for the participation of SME subjects on a project to be implemented in Azerbaijan.

Tim Song noted that the possibility of selling products of Azerbaijani companies on the Alibaba.com platform is being discussed. "Azerbaijan has a unique export potential. Our goal is to help your country stand out in the international arena with unique products and services. Since its inception, Alibaba.com has always sought to support the efforts of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) to enter the global market. We are pleased to announce that we have started working with local small and medium-sized enterprises in Azerbaijan today. The purpose of this initiative is to assist Azerbaijani SMEs in promoting their products both domestically and internationally," he said.

"Alibaba.com plans to use its experience and resources to analyze the needs of the Azerbaijani market, as well as to provide local sellers with access to a widespread global B2B partners network," Tim Song added.
