Manage your Alibaba.com account: settings, email and password

To take advantage of the enormous opportunity Alibaba.com represents, you first need to go through a seller registration process. You can either register as a free member, or contact a sales consultant to activate paid Gold Supplier Membership and enjoy premium features and benefits that come along.

Once your membership status is activated, you will be directed to My Alibaba workbench. You can change your password, update your account settings, set up sub-accounts, and more – all within My Alibaba.

Edit member profile

Your Member Profile was submitted when you joined Alibaba.com.

To edit your Member Profile:

1. Sign in to My Alibaba
2. Click on “My Account”
3. View your information and make changes on “Personal Information”, “Account Security”, “Finance Account”, and more (please note that any field with an asterisk * means the information is required).

Change email address

Make sure to keep your email address up-to-date to secure your account and receive important information about your privacy and account.

To change your email address:

1. Sign in to My Alibaba
2. Click on “My Account” – “Change Email Address”
3. The system may guide you to verify your old email address first before you can proceed. You can choose either “Email Verification” if your email is still in use, or “Contact Customer Service” for assistance.
4. Enter the new email address for your account
5. We'll send an email with a verification code to your new email address.
6. Enter the verification code and click Submit

Change password

If you’ve already logged into your Alibaba.com account, you can change your password from your settings. It is a good idea to update your password regularly for improved security and to make sure it is unique and hard to guess.

To change your password:

1. Sign in to My Alibaba
2. Click on “My Account” – “Change Password”
3. The system may guide you to verify your account first before you can proceed. You can choose either “Email Verification” if your email is still in use, or “Contact Customer Service” for assistance.
4. Enter new password and confirm new password
5. Click Submit

Reset a forgotten password

If you forgot your Alibaba.com password, you can request to reset it to get back into your Alibaba.com account.

To reset your password:

1. Go to the Sign In page, click “Forgot Password?”
2. Enter your email address or member ID as Login ID, and click Submit
3. Verify yourself by “Email Verification” or “Contact Customer Service”
4. Enter new password and confirm new password

Frequently Asked Questions

Did not receive email verification code?

1. Your email code may take up to 10 minutes to arrive (depending on your email service provider), please do not repeat clicking.
2. Please check if your mailbox works or if it goes to trash/spam folder or your mail inbox is full.
3. Network anomalies may cause loss of messages, please re-submit request or try again later with different browsers or with browser cookies cleared.
4. Check with your email operator to see if verification code email has been blocked.

Account security tips

1. Be careful about spoof email or phishing email.
2. Change account password regularly and keep it different from your email login password.
3. Run anti-virus program frequently.
4. Bind account with your mobile phone.
5. Do not disclose your password or verification code to anyone, including Alibaba staff such as your account manager or service team.
