The United Nations General Assembly designated 27 June as “Micro-, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises Day” to recognize the tireless efforts and invaluable contributions of MSMEs to our global economy and society.

Every year, the United Nations rolls out a dynamic event, with the aim to highlight MSMEs' pivotal role and explore opportunities for their further advancement.

About ITC

Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the International Trade Centre (ITC) is a multilateral agency with a joint mandate with the World Trade Organization and the United Nations through the UN Trade and Development. 2024 also marks the 60th anniversary of ITC.

About WTO

The World Trade Organization (WTO) deals with the global rules of trade between nations. Its main function is to ensure that trade flows as smoothly, predictably and freely as possible.

Alibaba.com and MSME Day

As an international B2B e-commerce platform, Alibaba.com is at the forefront of connecting MSMEs to global markets. In partnership with the ITC, Alibaba.com has held MSME Day events in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Both were held online.

For MSME Day 2024, this partnership has elevated. For the 1st time, at the invitation of ITC and WTO, Alibaba.com and 4 representatives from GGS will : join the MSME D attend 2 panels.
