The COVID-19 pandemic has had a disproportionate impact on SMEs worldwide. However, Malaysian businesses are uniquely placed to bounce back by leveraging cross-border opportunities.
Indeed, with Malaysia’s robust trade infrastructure as a regional e-hub and favorable perception by international buyers, many SMEs are in pole position to export to overseas wholesale buyers online.
To make it easy for Malaysian SMEs to go international, Alibaba.com, the global B2B e-commerce platform of Alibaba Group, is launching its Pandemic Recovery Support Program (“the Program”) in collaboration with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).
The Program was launched on 29th September 2021, and will end on 17th December 2021. It is sponsored by Alibaba.com, and aims to equip local SMEs with hands-on e-commerce business operations skills through the exclusive Alibaba.com Seller Training E-Course (ASTE). Besides the training course, which is originally only open to Alibaba.com’s paying members, participants of the Program will also benefit from additional support from MATRADE and MDEC.
